New SEAT Ateca in the Press
Autocar – “The new Ateca, named after a village in Spain, sports a sharp, sculptured design evolved from that of the Leon range.”
What Car? – “One of the Ateca’s killer features is its boot capacity. This is rated at 510 litres (dropping to 485 litres on all-wheel drive versions), which is 80 litres greater than its chief rival, the Nissan Qashqai.”
Top Gear – “The Ateca is a smart-looking thing, too, while the interior will be immediately familiar to anyone who’s ever been in a Leon, which is mostly fine with us.”
Auto Express – “The diesels will be the big sellers in the UK. There’s a 1.6 with 114bhp and CO2 emissions of 112g/km and a 2.0 that’s offered in two states of tune – 148bhp and 187bhp.”
The Telegraph – “Until now, SEAT has gone no further than offering the jacked-up X-PERIENCE version of its Leon ST estate. But the Ateca is its first standalone SUV, designed to take on the class-leading Nissan Qashqai and Kia’s new Sportage.”
Car Magazine – “The cabin is an impressive place to sit: it's very roomy in both rows, and you get the excellent eight inch touchscreen, which controls most of the car's impressive connectivity functions.”
Business Car – “Technology featured on the Ateca includes traffic jam assist, which semi-autonomously controls the car at low speeds, and emergency assist, which can automatically stop the vehicle if it detects a hazard ahead and no response from the driver.”
Car Buyer – “Inside, the Ateca again looks similar to the Leon, with the dashboard in particular being very familiar.”
Cars UK – “The arrival of the Ateca is the start of an SUV at SEAT which should see the Ateca as the middle of a range of three SUVs from SEAT in the next few years, and drive SEAT to profitability.”
Daily Express – “The Spanish carmaker has managed to produce a car that reflects the brand’s own identity and fits in with the rest of its model range."
Driving Magazine (Sunday Times) – "It certainly looks the part with its raised SUV stance and underbody protection, as well as butch styling featuring full LED headlights – at least on top-spec versions – a sloping roofline and flared wheelarches."
