The Skoda Superb: supercar pace with super practicality and space
The new Superb 2.0 TSI 280PS is the most powerful production ŠKODA ever built, and with a 0-62mph time of just 5.8 seconds it is undeniably fast, too. So fast, in fact, that you only have to go back a few decades to see that it has the upper hand against cars that truly were legends of the bedroom wall. Porsche 911, Ferrari 308 GTB, Lotus Esprit and Honda NSX: this large, practical family car is faster than some of the fastest supercars of their generation. But, unlike those classic supercars, this incredible performance comes with a price tag that doesn’t run into six figures and running costs that won’t break the bank.
What’s more, with a DSG gearbox and four-wheel-drive as standard, its supercar-rivalling performance can be deployed with complete ease and safety. And, even though it boasts an output of 280PS from its turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine, the new Superb isn’t just the fastest production ŠKODA – thanks to its 660-litre boot it’s also the biggest and most spacious.

Available now in hatch and estate form, the new Superb 2.0TSI 280PS is priced at £31,445 for the former and £32,745 for the latter, and is available in SE L Executive, new SportLine and Laurin & Klement trim levels. Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Columbus satellite navigation system, electrically operated boot, leather upholstery and heated seats. Not stuff you’d find in a Ferrari 308 GTB.
